Oliver Medical's Randy Troutman named one of '100 Notable People in the Medical Device Industry'
Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA...Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry (MD&DI) magazine has named Randy Troutman, Oliver Medical technical director, one of its 100 Notable People in the Medical Device Industry.
The list includes those who make advances in medical science and technology possible and who ensure that medical devices can treat patients safely and effectively, according to the publication; the list is featured in MD&DI's June, 2008 issue. MD&DI describes Troutman as "a noted expert on packaging material selection, shelf-life testing, performance testing, and equipment validation."
"Randy Troutman is a key leader in the industry," said Jeff Murak, Oliver Medical vice president of marketing and sales. "In addition to providing the highest levels of technical knowledge and services to Oliver and our customers, Randy very actively contributes to ongoing advancements in the industry."
Troutman has contributed articles to industry publications including MD&DI and Healthcare Packaging, and has addressed conferences including MDM, HealthPack®, and China CAMDI. He is a member of the Institute of Packaging Professionals medical device packaging committee.

Troutman leads Oliver Medical's engineering resources; his professional areas of expertise include medical device packaging (testing, validation, standards and compliance) and ISO 11607 compliance. Before joining Oliver, he worked for Smith & Nephew, Medtronic, and Kimberly Clark. Troutman is a Certified Packaging Professional and holds a B.S. in packaging and an MBA.
Troutman is also a member of the Oliver Answer Team, which provides Oliver OnSite package engineering consulting. OnSite services include sealing parameters development, process validation, package system validation, ISO 11607 guidance, and identification of cost-savings opportunities.
