Randy Troutman to discuss medical device packaging at STERIS Isomedix Seminar, October, 2007
Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA..."Packaging Considerations for Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals" will be addressed by Randy Troutman, Oliver Medical technical director, at the STERIS Isomedix Services seminar on October 3, 2007 in Iselin, New Jersey. Troutman will be a guest speaker at the seminar, which will highlight topics critical to success in medical device and pharmaceutical sterilization.
Troutman's presentation will cover the effects of sterilization on packaging; sterilization compatibilities; Gamma/EO validation testing; AAMI validation; and more.
STERIS Isomedix Services experts will address Gamma, EO, and E-beam processing; standards and guidelines; parametric release, biological indicators, and the EO process; dose mapping for radiation; and materials compatibility and selection.
The seminar will be interactive in nature, allowing attendees the opportunity to learn from presenters and discuss current topics with industry peers.
Randy Troutman is a member of the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) medical device packaging committee and the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) packaging working group. Before joining Oliver, Troutman worked for Smith & Nephew, Medtronic and Kimberly Clark. He is a Certified Packaging Professional and holds a B.S. in packaging and an MBA. Troutman speaks regularly at industry conferences and seminars.
